Hey there, I'm John. At the moment, I'm a Senior Copywriter at Chewy who builds campaigns and expands the brand one project at a time.
For the past two years, I've been writing in-house for Chewy, your pet’s favorite store. During this time, I’ve tackled a wide range of projects—from shaping the guidelines for the new in-person Chewy Vet Care to spearheading large, uncharted healthcare campaigns. It’s been fulfilling to take Chewy’s playful tone, blend it with serious topics like medicine, and craft compelling, relatable stories.
Before working in an office filled with dogs, I was at Boathouse, a Boston-based agency. I primarily partnered with clients in real estate, healthcare, technology, and academia. Some of my standout moments include expanding Goodyear's national presence, establishing brand standards for startups, leading campaigns for New England's transportation sector, and helping well-known hospitals find their footing on the global stage. My passion for bringing brands into new arenas, however, began with KeySmart.
During the pandemic, I wrote for the e-commerce company KeySmart, where I branded and launched new products. I also advocated for and led the company’s first steps onto TikTok. In the first month, my creative direction earned over 218k likes, 2MM views, and 2k followers. This scrappy, experimental energy traces back to my time at Promoshin.
Early in my career, I worked at Promoshin, a small LA ad agency. Collaborating closely with mentors, I helped startups develop their voice and connect with their audiences. It was invaluable to guide companies through their first steps, experiment with new ideas, and figure out what truly resonated.
Outside of copywriting, I keep myself moving—both literally and figuratively. Whether I’m wearing in my hiking boots, relearning French, or refining my (passable) cooking skills, I love pushing myself onto new paths.
